Electronic Devices Update – Travel from Egypt

 18 Dec 2017 | 08:00

In March this year, the UK Government announced additional security measures for passengers on flights from Egypt to the UK. These measures meant that larger phones, laptops and tablets must be placed in the hold and not carried in hand luggage.

Following a review by the UK Government and the introduction of new security measures, customers flying from Hurghada and Marsa Alam on Thomas Cook Airlines will now be able to carry larger phones, laptops and tablets in hand luggage. The new security measures include additional screening at the gate, so please arrive promptly when your flight is called to allow sufficient time to board.

In August, the same ban was lifted for flights from Turkey. This means that there is no longer a ban on electronic devices in hand luggage for any Thomas Cook Airlines flight from either Egypt or Turkey.
