Monarch Announcement - Update

Following the announcement that Monarch is insolvent and that their operations have now ceased, which included flights and package holidays, we are supporting customers whose current and future holidays have been affected.

We are doing all we can to try to ensure that customers whose Thomas Cook holiday included a flight with Monarch Airlines can continue with their plans with as little disruption as possible. We are also working to help any customers who booked a Monarch Holidays package through a Thomas Cook storeto find an alternative so that they can still enjoy a holiday.

We are working with the CAA on the plan to repatriate all Monarch customers currently in resort including those on Thomas Cook holidays. We are also providing Monarch Holidays and flight only customers with support in destination.

If you are currently on a Thomas Cook holiday and are due to fly back on a Monarch Airlines flight, our in resort team will be in touch with you to confirm your amended return flight details. The CAA are arranging repatriation flights so you can return to the UK on the date originally planned. The timings of these flights is posted on their website each day for the following day. If you are due to travel on a Thomas Cook holiday in the coming weeks on a Monarch Airlines flight, we are continuing to try to find the best alternative to avoid disruption to your plans. Unfortunately demand for flights is so high that there are very limited alternatives available and in some cases we may have no choice but to cancel your holiday and provide a full refund of the cost. If your Thomas Cook holiday has to be cancelled or amended because no alternative flight is available, we will offer you £100 off the cost of an alternative Thomas Cook holiday of your choice.

If you booked a Thomas Cook holiday departing in summer 2018 and flying with Monarch Airlines, we have now added additional flight options departing from Leeds Bradford and Luton so we will be contacting you shortly to offer an alternative holiday.

Customers who have booked a Monarch package holiday at a Thomas Cook store and who are due to travel in the next few weeks should contact your store. We will do everything we can to help you find and book an alternative Thomas Cook holiday , rather than you having to cancel your plans and claim your money back through the ATOL scheme.

Customers who have booked a package holiday at a Thomas Cook store with another tour operator that includes a flight with Monarch Airlines should speak directly to their store for further information about their holiday plans.
