In 2016 the UK Government announced additional precautionary security measures for passengers on flights originating in a number of countries in the Eastern Mediterranean and Middle East, including Turkey and Egypt. Those measures meant that laptops, tablets and e-readers would not be allowed in hand luggage and must be placed in the hold.
Following a review by the UK Government and the introduction of new security measures in 2017, customers flying from Turkey, Tunisia and Egypt on Thomas Cook Airlines can now carry laptops, tablets, e-readers, batteries and power packs in hand luggage.
The new security measures include additional screening at the gate, so please go as soon as your flight is called to allow sufficient time to board.
