From 1st June 2016, customers staying in the Maltese Islands will need to pay Environmental Contribution Tax. This will be collected from you when you get to your accommodation. It’s been introduced by the Government of Malta to help with environmental and tourism improvements.
They’ve created a leaflet to give more information about the tax you’ll need to pay. You can view this leaflet online click here.
We know the tax will be €0.50 per person, per night, and capped at €5.00 per stay. Children under 18 won’t have to pay.
