Safety regulations - lithium-ion battery devices (recalled MacBooks)

19 Aug 2019 | 17:20

According to regulations of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the transport of equipment with a defective or recalled lithium-ion battery in checked baggage on board all flights of the Thomas Cook Group Airline in Germany, UK, Scandinavia and Spain is prohibited due to safety reasons.

Such devices, like the Apple MacBook Pro models affected by a recall recently, may be carried in carry-on baggage but must be switched-off and are not be used or charged during the flight. The device must also be stowed in hand luggage under the front seat and observed. In the event of heat generation, the cabin crew must be informed immediately. We kindly ask our guests for their understanding, as safety is our first priority at all times.
